IUVO mission

IUVO S.r.l. is a spin-off company of The BioRobotics Institute, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA, Pisa, Italy), whose foundation was authorized by the Academic Council and Board of Directors of SSSA on November 2014, in compliance with national laws and regulations. IUVO S.r.l. was founded on January 2015 by a team of post-docs, professors and researchers, who collaborated in the field of wearable robotics, and are now transferring their know-how and ideas in the development of dependable assistive robots.

“IUVO” comes from Latin and means “I assist”: the invention and deployment of new ICT solutions for daily-life assistance, rehabilitation and augmentation of human movement is actually the long-term mission of this company.

In the short term, IUVO S.r.l. will mature and bring on the market the wearable robots for movement assistance, rehabilitation and augmentation invented and prototyped by the Wearable Robotics Laboratory of The BioRobotics Institute, SSSA.

IUVO S.r.l. is currently incubated within the The BioRobotics Institute: this is a relevant aspect to safely and smoothly carry out all of the innovation activities foreseen by the current IUVO business plan.
