Wearable robots that reduce strain, support posture and help people work more safely and comfortably.
Improving Worker Wellbeing through Wearable Robotics
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) remain one of the primary causes of injuries, reduced continuity in daily operations, and long-term health issues in modern workplaces. By combining
biomechanical expertise, industrial collaborations, and field-proven evidence, IUVO designs solutions that address these challenges supporting the body where effort is highest, improving posture and natural movement, and making physically demanding tasks more manageable.
Real Devices for Workers
IUVO’s MATE exoskeletons (designed and engineered for Comau and distributed by IUVO) deliver targeted biomechanical assistance exactly when and where the body needs it. These exoskeletons preserve full freedom of movement and fully integrate into daily operations, reducing strain and fatigue and helping workers maintain healthier posture throughout their workday.
Shoulder Support Exoskeleton
Designed for repetitive overhead and upper-limb tasks, MATE-XT reduces effort of the shoulder muscles and supports the arm during sustained or repetitive movements.
Lumbar Support Exoskeleton
Engineered to decrease the load on the lumbar region, MATE-XB reduces activation of the erector spinae muscles during bending, lifting, and forward-leaning tasks.
Proven and Measurable Benefits
Large-scale field studies and extensive laboratory testing confirm the effectiveness of IUVO’s technologies and reflect the company’s commitment to delivering solutions that are not only scientifically validated but also operationally relevant and easy to adopt in real industrial environments.
Up to
35% reduction in muscle activity
in key muscle groups associated with shoulder and lumbar strain
Significant improvements in posture
and perceived comfort
Lower biomechanical risk
and long-term MSD prevention
Enhanced worker wellbeing
and improved continuity of operations
Valuable Collaborations
IUVO’s R&D model is built on co-creation with leading industrial partners, ensuring that each device responds to ergonomic needs in real operative scenarios.
Comau
In collaboration with Comau, IUVO co-developed the MATE family of exoskeletons, today deployed globally in a broad range of sectors.
Esselunga
Following a multi-year, on-field co-development program for MATE-XB, thanks to the continued feedback from logistics operators, the device was refined until achieving full operational readiness and market launch.
From Research to Deployment
IUVO’s technologies originate from a human-centric development model grounded in biomechanics, ergonomics, and human-robot interaction.
The company actively contributes to major European research initiatives, helping advance standards, methodologies, and new paradigms in wearable robotics.
